Sneak Peek: Lucy {Newborn Gold Coast Photographer}

There are countless reasons why I love my job. I could give you a list of at least 20, and for that alone, I feel so incredibly lucky.

But one of my favorite is when dear clients come back to me with a new addition to their families.

Two years ago I met gorgeous little Ella. She turned out to be one of my superstar babies, as I like to call them, being featured in magazine editorials both in Australia and Brazil.

Today, I got to meet her sweet baby sister: Lucy.
What a perfect name for such a darling baby girl =)

Thank you, Rebecca, Sean for trusting me to document these most precious moments of your girls' lives.

I could not help myself and I could not decide which images to blog so I just went ahead and chose a few ;)

When Mandi and I first spoke over the phone, I just knew their session was going to be nothing short than fun.
Mandi and Josh are from Texas, USA, but currently living in Cairns.
They will soon be welcoming their precious little baby girl.

They flew to Brisbane and we met up at 6am at the fantastic Powerhouse.

This was my very first session at dawn and I must say I'm utterly loving that light!
How Mandi and Josh managed to look this amazing, with no puffy sleepy eyes so early in the morning, is beyond me ;p

Thanks again, guys for such a lovely morning.

Jillian & Doug are having twins!!! {Maternity Gold Coast Photographer}

Today I got to meet this loving and fun couple who are anxiously waiting for the arrival of their twins!
The session was held at one of my favorite little corner of the world, Coolangatta.

When I spoke to Jillian before the session to discuss ideas, clothing, location etc she asked
if it was alright if they brought Shirley, their gorgeous Golden Retriever whom they call their first child.
Um...YEAH! I absolutely adore dogs and was really looking forward to shoot my first session with a pet.

As soon as I knew Shirley was coming I just HAD to come up with a fun idea.
I'll let the images speak for themselves ;)

Today, one of my biggest dreams as a photographer came true.
I can't quite describe the feeling of seeing my work published on shiny magazine pages =)

Back in May, I was approached by the renowned Brazilian magazine Caras. They were working on a 400-page baby special edition and were interested in using a few of my images to illustrate the articles.

After a long process of choosing images, getting model releases signed and translated and many sleepless anxious nights, the day finally came.
Although I'm yet to get my hands on it when I'm in Brazil late September, I'm on cloud nine!

Gosh do I love maternity sessions!?!?

I feel like each time I photograph a mama to be, it's almost as if God wants to give us a sign of the amazing miracle that is unfolding right before our eyes, so He makes sure to give us the perfect lighting, the perfect little locations...it just amazes me how every single detail contributes for images like these.

Now, another thing as well, you can only imagine how delightful it is to photograph such a gorgeous mama!!
Gry is the sweetest and is getting these photos done as a surprise for hubby. Cute!

There's something about photographing another fellow photographer... I can't really explain what it is but I do know I LOVE it!
If you ever have the opportunity, do it! Lots of warm fuzzy feelings guaranteed ;)

Now, take it to a whole other level and have people like the gorgeous Simone Carter & family as subjects.
This session was a joy to photograph and post process from start to finish.

Today I had the pleasure to meet Matt's friend from high School Karen, her husband Justin and their brand new baby Bailey.

As soon as they arrived, Karen warned me: "Good luck with this one. He's the most alert newborn ever!" And she'd know, being a midwife...

Only they did not know how patient and determined I am as a newborn photographer. =D

Bailey did try to fight his sleep a bit but not long after lots of feed, he went straight to that special dreamland happy place hehe

And here he is, gorgeous little boy!

Sneak Peek: Baxter {Newborn Gold coast Photographer}

Today I had my very first session at my new (improvised) studio.
I cannot describe the feeling of having everything there, not having to carry tons of stuff to client's place and, most importantly, being in total control of lighting!

Baxter was a delight to photograph. At 6 weeks old, I admit I was a bit worried we would not get sleepy shots, but this little one was SO good to me!

Sandra was a treat to photograph. The session went on so smoothly because of her laid back atitude. Gotta love a no pressure shoot lol
When I first got there, her little one, Bailey, was asleep and we were not sure if he'd be awake to join us, but thankfully he did! Bailey is such a sweetheart...we had lots of fun playing with his toys and he was NOT happy when I had to leave haha...it melted my heart!

Today I had the pleasure of photographing Megan's maternity session.
It was a gorgeous sunny day on the Gold Coast and I just knew this session was going to rock!
We had lunch with our hubbies (Megan and Trev are Matt's high school friends)and patiently waited for the perfect time to head off to the locations.
It was such a lovely and relaxed day. Megan is every photographer's dream model!! Not only she's stunning and sweet but was so willing to try any ideas and poses and brought some serious cool props.

Victorian Bushfire Appeal

Since the horrific events took place last Saturday in Victoria I've been watching the news in disbelief...I cannot even imagine the pain and anguish of those who lost their lives, their homes...my heart and prayers goes on to them...

I've been trying to come up with a way to effectively raise money to donate to the victims. Thankfully, an amazing fellow photographer, Kris Leigh came up with this brilliant idea!

For those interested in booking a session with Danielle Hamilton Photography in February or March, visit the Australian Red Cross website, donate your $100 session fee via the secure online donations form, send me an electronic copy of your receipt and we will organise a time and date for your session!

This adorable couple came all the way from Tasmania for a holiday and also to get married!
It was a simple but beautiful ceremony at the registry and I was lucky enough to be their photographer and capture such a special moment for them and their family.
They have two angels and expecting the third one (Clair, you did a session with them!)

Two weeks ago I had the pleasure to photograph this gorgeous family. Mum contacted me interested in getting some shots of her kids in order to use them in her future business catalogue and website. She will be offering organic products for kids and requested candid and fun captures...and boy did we have FUN!
They were up for anything and I managed to get some really good shots.
By the end of the session little Alanah did not want me to go and even asked if I could spend the night with them lol my heart just melted! So here's the sneak peek for Karen and family. Hope you guys enjoy it!

Asa=Wing

This beautiful angel's name, Asa, means 'wing' in Portuguese, now, how cool is that?!
His mum did not know this before I told her and absolutely loved it.
Asa also means 'healer' in Hebrew and was the name of a Biblical King, characterized in the Bible as a man of integrity.
Asa thought mum's tummy was too much of a good place to leave so suddenly and needed a 'nudge' of doctors to come to this world. Ever since, bub and mum are doing great, thank you very much!
He was born weighting amazing 10.6 pounds and he has the cutest lips I have ever seen!!! I had to go back for a second session, as he was rather alert for a 9 days old, and it was a treat to see he keeps growing by the minute!
Thanks Tami and family for letting me be a part of such a precious time in your lives...

Welcome to my blog, we're finally live!
I had this on my To Do List for ages and, after a 'long, cold not-so-lonely winter, I've finally found some time to set it up.
This is the place I will be sharing sneak peeks with clients, publishing news about products, seasonal speacials and much more. Now, for the very first post, I thought nothing would be better than sharing some of my personal favorites from previous sessions.
